Heather Hansen is a full-time studio potter and mother of two based in Janesville, Wisconsin. Working primarily in stoneware clay, she creates functional pottery designed for everyday use and enjoyment.
Heather’s journey with clay began at Milton High School and was rekindled years later through a ceramics course at the Beloit Art Center. Today, she is the owner and artist behind Pottery By Five, creating her work from her studio at Raven’s Wish Gallery.
Her pottery reflects a love of color, natural beauty, and craftsmanship. While commissions and teaching classes are a key part of her creative practice, Heather’s work can also be found at several local businesses. "I play with clay—rolling big slabs into platters, tiles and spoon rests, spinning the wheel for mugs, bowls and vases, and turning scraps into tiny pinch pots and pocket-sized worry stones." ~HH

Inspiration comes from the natural world around us, from the textures and colors of the earth to the patterns in the sky. I aim to capture the essence of nature in my ceramics, creating pieces that are both timeless and modern.

Each piece is handcrafted with care and attention to detail, using techniques that have been passed down through the ages.

Our collection includes a variety of ceramics, from tableware to decorative pieces. Offering a range of colors and styles, so you can find the perfect piece for your home or as a gift for someone special.
